FAQ

What tax inputs are included?

The calculator estimates U.S. federal income tax using filing status and the standard deduction. It can also include FICA.

Does the tool save my salary?

No. Inputs stay in your browser session and are not stored by the site.

Why are there no state taxes here?

This version keeps scope narrow so the output stays simple and deterministic. State taxes vary by jurisdiction and are excluded.

What does the FICA toggle do?

It lets you include or exclude estimated Social Security and Medicare taxes in the after-tax salary estimate.

Does this include retirement or insurance deductions?

No. The calculator does not include pre-tax benefits, retirement deferrals, health insurance, or employer-specific payroll deductions.

Can I use this for job offer comparisons?

Yes. It can help compare gross salary to estimated federal after-tax income, but it is still a simplified estimate.

Is this a final tax calculation?

No. It is an estimate based on federal rules and stated assumptions, not a filed tax result or payroll guarantee.
